The main beliefs of christianity are centered on the teachings and life of Jesus Christ. They include the belief that there is one God who created heaven, earth and the universe; that Jesus was the son of God; and that he died for our sins and was resurrected.
Christians believe that God sent Jesus to earth to save us from our sins and show everyone that there is another life with a loving, heavenly God. Christian faith is based on the Bible and has a wide variety of denominations, traditions and worship practices.
A person who is a Christian must follow certain rules to ensure they are following the teachings of Jesus and are living according to the Bible. These rules are called the creeds.
1. The Bible is the Word of God (Acts 17:28; 1 Timothy 2:7; Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 4:4; John 10:35). A true Christian will read and interpret the Bible, respect it, and strive to live by its words.
2. The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. A true Christian will follow the teachings of the Bible and will always make sure that what they are doing is right.
3. The Bible is a record of God’s Word that tells us who he is and how to live with him in this world. A true Christian will read and interpret the Bible, and will always make sure that what they are trying to do is right.
4. A Christian will have a relationship with God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. A true Christian will be able to see God in their everyday lives and feel his presence.
5. A Christian will know that God loves them unconditionally. A true Christian will know that God is always there to help them through tough times and that He will never leave them or forsake them.
6. A Christian will have a personal relationship with God and will strive to develop that relationship through worship, prayer and other spiritual activities. A true Christian will try to keep their relationship with God as close as possible by practicing good morals and following the teachings of Jesus.
7. A true Christian will practice worshipping God the way that He wants to be worshipped. A true Christian will not adopt any of the holidays or other worship practices that are common among mainstream Christianity.
8. A true Christian will have a personal relationship with God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. An example of this is when a Christian talks to God with prayer and asks for guidance in their lives.
9. A Christian will have a personal relationship with their pastor or priest. A pastor or priest is someone who teaches people about the Bible and helps them develop a relationship with God.
10. A true Christian will be a good person and will not hurt others. A true Christian will be a good person who is kind to others and treats them with dignity and respect.
