Spiritual Questions
I need prayer and spiritual guidance-can you help me?
While none of us are ordained ministers we would be more then happy to pray with you and give you biblical advice through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. You can contact any of us individually through e-mail (listed on our “about” section) or you can send an e-mail at [email protected].
What if I don’t believe/agree with something you wrote?
We understand that not everybody has the same beliefs that we do. As followers of Christ, we do our best to make sure everything we post is scriptural. We respect other beliefs and are not looking to offend anybody and ask that our beliefs are respected too. If you are looking for clarification on anything feel free to contact us but please keep in mind that we are simply here to encourage and inspire and not to argue or debate.
I haven’t accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and I want to-what do I do?
We are beyond THRILLED to know you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. The bible says that if you simply “declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). You can make that confession on your own believing that Jesus is the Son of God and you will receive Christ into your life. If you have further questions or want somebody to pray with you we would love to do so! E-mail us at [email protected]
I read an article that mentioned “speaking in tongues” or being “baptized in the Holy Spirit”-what is that and where does the bible talk about it?
We believe that the bible talks about two kinds of baptisms. One is getting baptized in water and the other is getting baptized in the Holy Spirit. We believe the bible tells us to do both as Christians. The bible talks about being filled with the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues in Acts chapter 2. Specifically, Acts 2:4 says “All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” We believe that speaking in tongues is something that all believers can receive from God.
How do I get baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues?
If you desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit you can be. You can pray “Father, your word says that I can be filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enables me. I believe in the power of your Holy Spirit and receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Jesus name, amen.” Once you have prayed, begin to open your mouth and speak in faith. If you have any questions or would like somebody to pray with you e-mail us at [email protected].
I prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and nothing happened-what do I do?
Acts 2:4 says that you will “begin to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enables you”. When you pray for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit He enables you to speak in tongues but He doesn’t force you to. If you are waiting for something to overtake you and take control of your mouth it isn’t going to happen. Speaking in tongues is something you will be able to control and must initiate. Begin to speak in faith and even if it sounds silly keep going. Your language will naturally grow and advance as you continue to speak in tongues. Remember, just because you didn’t start speaking in tongues immediately that doesn’t mean you didn’t receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit; you just have to step out in faith and begin to speak.
